beauty - art journal page

more playing in my art journal....

My little 4 year old is always by my side, especially when I'm arting.  She has her own set of paints, pens, markers, crayons....you name it.  I always pour out her paints onto her pallet for her and lately I've noticed that she comes up with some pretty fun color combinations!   One day she used a bright pink, orange and brown and I so I decided it would be a fun challenge for me to use those colors for the background.  So, that's what I did here.  I think I might have to start making note of the color combinations that she comes up with and use them more often.....she's a natural!

The flowers are stamped with one of my very old Stampin'Up! sets called Definitely Decorative Daisy and acrylic paints.  The alphabet set is by Ma Vinci Reliquary and called Times Ramon.

life is about creating yourself - art journal page

More playing in my art journal......lots of color sprays and playing with one of the new digital stamps that I bought by The Octopode Factory.  This is Mabel and she's from the Steampunk Ladies set.  I would be thrilled to pieces to have every, single stamp from this designer! lol  I know that I will be collecting them bit by bit..... ;-)  There's just something about them that I'm swooning over. lol

I colored Violet in with Copic markers....I'm still learning how to use them but I'm happy with how she turned out!

anything is possible - art journal page

This page is highly inspired by the very talented Rachel and her amazing art journal pages.  I can't recommend Rachel's YouTube and UStream videos enough.  I have learned so much from her and can sit and watch her create for hours!  During one of her shows, she did a black and white border and I knew that I had to try it on one of my own pages.  So, here is what I created!  I love this border and I can't wait do it again..... Thanks Rachel for sharing your gift with us! :-)

The Mess Controls Me - art journal page

This is one of those pages that started out one way and turned into something completely unexpected by the time I was done with it.   It started out all pretty and light and I did something that I didn't like, got frustrated because I couldn't get it covered up the way I wanted to and so I started dripping different colors of liquid acrylic paints down the edges and I ended up with this. lol  But, as I worked through this, my frilly, pretty idea from the beginning morphed into what has really been bothering me a lot lately....the mess and unorganized chaos that's been controlling my every move lately.  I have good intentions about getting it together, but I just can't seem to stick with it and pull out of this chaos.  I've got to get it in gear though, because school starts this Tuesday for my 15 year old daughter and my 4 year old daughter starts preschool at the end of the month.....hopefully I will be inspired to do a page soon about how I overcame this chaos and finally pulled out of this crippling mess I've let myself get into.

p.s.....this darling stamp is Party Girl by Suzi Blu
