a pair of ATC's

Hello everyone!

I had this image of this couple pulled for awhile to put on an ATC, but had only planned on using the girl.  Well, she was a struggle and I tried using her once but it just wouldn't work.  You can watch me struggle with using her here and I end up creating a totally different ATC.  When I cut her away from her gentleman, only pieces of her arms were left and I was at a loss at how use her on an ATc.  I had originally wanted to give her wings, but there was no way that would work at all.  So, I tossed on my scrap pile on my desk (because I really wanted to use her still) and a few days later I saw her again and there were pieces of flowers laying across her and I knew I could use her after all.

you can watch me create this card here:

And, I couldn't throw him away either, so he made his way onto his own card.  You can watch me create this card here.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I have a lot more ATC's to share!  They have been my creative go-to right now.  They are fun and fast and perfect for my limited craft time that I have right now.

Journal Friday - covering unwanted areas in magazine ads

Yesterday I was able to complete a page in my collage journal and decided to bring you all along to watch as I covered up unwanted areas on a magazine page.  I really liked the image and wanted to use it, without cutting the unwanted parts off.  So, I decided to cover up those areas with roses and butterfly wings.

I wanted to share this with you, because there are so many wonderful magazine images out there but a lot of them have unwanted areas, words, and even ladies with amazing expressions on their faces and a lack of clothing in the appropriate areas. lol  But, it's not hard to cover those areas up with flowers, butterfly wings, watch faces, jewelry and such.  You could also use your own cut-out title to cover up places, too.  I have even (very lightly) used matching acrylic paint to cover up some things but I don't do that often, because the paint can cause the magazine paper to wrinkle up and sometimes it doesn't like to dry flat and smooth.

Thanks so much and if you have any questions, please ask in the comments and I will get back with you as soon as I can!

Have a wonderful day!

discover - a collage journal page

I have been spending quite a bit of time in my collage journal lately and enjoying every second of it.  Life has been so busy lately and it is the easiest place for me to go when I am needing to create.  Especially since I can take it anywhere to work on because I don't need a lot of supplies to create in it.

I recently shot a video of my working in my collage journal and shared it on my YouTube page.  It is a real-time video, with no editing, deleting or fast-forwarding.  Just me working in my journal and talking my way through all of my thoughts as I complete the page.  It is almost an hour long, which is the longest video I have ever done!  But, I hope that you are able to sit back and take the time to watch it and that you do enjoy creating a page with me from start to finish.  I know that there is so much more that I want to share about my collage journal and I can't wait to do just that!

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have any questions, please just ask!
