a pair of ATC's

Hello everyone!

I had this image of this couple pulled for awhile to put on an ATC, but had only planned on using the girl.  Well, she was a struggle and I tried using her once but it just wouldn't work.  You can watch me struggle with using her here and I end up creating a totally different ATC.  When I cut her away from her gentleman, only pieces of her arms were left and I was at a loss at how use her on an ATc.  I had originally wanted to give her wings, but there was no way that would work at all.  So, I tossed on my scrap pile on my desk (because I really wanted to use her still) and a few days later I saw her again and there were pieces of flowers laying across her and I knew I could use her after all.

you can watch me create this card here:

And, I couldn't throw him away either, so he made his way onto his own card.  You can watch me create this card here.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I have a lot more ATC's to share!  They have been my creative go-to right now.  They are fun and fast and perfect for my limited craft time that I have right now.

imagination - an ATC

This is my last ATC for a February challenge that I'm in to create three ATC's about self-love.  I'm not 100% thrilled with this one, but hey, it's done, right? lol  I love that I have a big imagination and I hope the whimsical nature of this card reflects that a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

dream - an ATC

I needed to make another ATC for a challenge that I'm in for the month of February.  We had to make three ATC's and the theme was love of self.  That was a hard one for me.  I looked around in my drawers of ephemera and found a Carter's childrens clothes tag with the word "dream" on it and that's what started this card coming together.  I love that I'm a dreamer....even when right now I hate to admit that I feel like most of those dreams won't get to come true.  We will see....

Thanks so much for stopping by....and I have one more card to share for this challenge!

I'm No Shrinking Violet - an ATC

Hello everyone!  Well, first of all I can't believe that I haven't done a single thing on here since mid-September.  Wow.  I have to say that I really hit a crummy point and was just down.  It seemed like my Muse had packed up and left along with all of my sense of keeping my life running smoothly and happily.  It all just fell to pieces.  So here I am, finally trying to pick up all of those pieces and start putting them carefully back together again in a way that works the best for me, who I am and who I really want to be.  Wish me luck! lol  It's going to be a lot of work and not an easy thing to do, but it's got to be done.

I am in a group on Facebook called The Studio and I had signed up for this months challenge.  It is an ATC challenge where we have to create several cards and share them throughout this month.  The theme is LOVE.  But not love of others, but sharing something that you love about yourself.  Wow, was that a hard one for me to think about.  Especially after how I felt about myself after this past year where I felt like I had completely fell apart.

I had no idea what to do, so I pulled out a magazine and started flipping through it and found the sentence, "I'm no shrinking violet."  After I saw that, I knew it's what I had to use.  Heck, I just survived one crappy year and I've been through loads of other pretty awful things and guess what, I'm still here, still moving on, still plugging along, still trying to make it work and make things better.  Then I remembered a magazine ad that I had in my stash of papers for collage.  It was covered with violets.  So down into my studio I went (a.k.a. the dark, creepy and freezing cold unfinished basement lol), I turned on my video camera and here's what I created.

I'm really happy with how it turned out.  It's been quite awhile since I have made an ATC and I sure have been jealous of all of the wonderful ones I've seen people swapping on Instagram.  I hope to be able to join in some swaps soon, that's for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to be sharing more this weekend.  I have completed several pages from my collage journal that I'd like to share and I will also have a video of my working on some of those pages as well.  I also finished an art journal page and need to work on the video for that one, too.  Lots going on and it sure does look like my Muse decided to come back home.  Wow, am I ever so grateful!! <3

Take care,

a parade of ATC's....

I got bored one night and decided to make some of my tie-dyed baby wipes and then of course had to create something with them. lol So, I ended up making a bunch of ATC's using the baby wipes as the base layer of each card.  I really had  a lot of fun making them.  There's no theme or anything like that, just me creating whatever popped into my mind that day.  I did challenge myself to try to use products that I have had for ages, but never touched....like stamps, Radient Pearls, etc.

Here is a picture of some of the tie-dyed baby wipes I made to send off for RAK's.  You can watch me make some here.  I use Tumble Dyes because they are designed to be used on fabric and once they are dry, they do not bleed when you get them wet.  So, they are great to put glue on, color sprays, etc and you don't have to worry about the color bleeding.

And here are the ATC's the I created using tie-dyed baby wipes as the main background:

Thanks for visiting and seeing what I've been creating and I hope you're inspired to create a little art, too!  ATC's have been perfect for me right now, because my free time is few and far between with two little ones running around.  I created one ATC a day and it was just enough to keep my Muse (and me!) happy!

Take care and God Bless,

ATC collage challenge.....

A few weeks ago DeDe started a challenge during her UStream show.  She sent out an envelope full of collage fodder and challenged you to use what was in that envelope to make several ATC's.  I absolutely LOVED this challenge and it was just what I needed.  I've been really hard for me lately to find time to work in my art journal....the pages are big and nap time just doesn't ever last long enough for me to finish what I've started.  But, these ATC's have been the answer to my prayers!  First of all, I used only what was in the envelope, except for a few inks, stamps and paints.  Second, they were small!  So, I it was easy for me to do an ATC each day while my little guy was napping.  I challenged myself to do as many cards as I possibly could with what I was given too and I ended up being able to make 6 ATCs!  All six of them will be mailed back to DeDe and she will give them away during one of her streams.  Woot!

Here's a photo of what I received in my envelope:

Here's what was left when I was done:

(I fell in love with the vintage Valentine on the stick and just had to keep that for my own journal lol)

And here are all of the ATC's that I made with the goodies!

Thank you so much DeDe for sending me the envelope of goodies and giving my Muse a great challenge!  And, everyone, be sure to visit DeDe's blog so that you can see all of her absolutely AMAZING art!

God Bless!
