get creative - an ATC

I was on such a roll creating the three, paint-themed ATC's that I couldn't stop and ended up creating this card from the left-over bits and pieces from other projects that were still sitting on my desk.

The textured, blue area was created by using a piece of deli paper that I had spread some left-over, blue modeling paste on.  I scraped it through a stencil and let it dry.  I really love how this part of the ATC turned out.  The deli paper is thin, so it pretty much "melts" into the background after it's been adhered onto the card with some ModPodge.  Deli paper is a lot like tissue paper, but it's a bit more sturdy.  I do a lot of my work on pieces of deli paper just so that it catches the drips and extra paint.  Then, I save them in a box to be used on future project, like this one.  Even if it's the first thing that I glue down and gets totally covered by the time I'm done, sometimes just starting a mixed media project by gluing things down helps get my creative juices flowing and then all sorts of wonderful things start to happen. :-)
