flow - a mixed media canvas

Well, I have been stuck in a very dry spot for a very long time.  And it's really sucked. lol  But, while showing a friend my Renew canvas and talking out our "One Word" for 2014, I knew that I wanted to create canvas for them as well.  Once I had that in my head, I just couldn't get it out and after a couple of months, out of the blue, I finally had an idea come to me.  My friend is quite an amazing person and such an inspiration to so many people.  She is a yoga teacher/studio owner and even though I haven't be able to attend a single class, just being able to talk to her about some of the things that I have been going through this year has been such a blessing to me.  And in our talks and after mulling around what to do for her canvas, the word "flow" was pressed so strongly into my mind that I knew I had to use that word....even though her word this year is "synchronicity".  After I had the word, the rest fell into place....a finger-painted, swirl of flowing paint and lotus flowers to represent her studio.

I'm so happy with how it turned out and am finally feeling that inner spark to really start moving some paint around again.... <3

Thanks for stopping by :-)

  3. Hi Di :) Your beautiful canvas really does flow with those gorgeous colors & flowing swirl! I'm SO happy your dry spell is over...I get so much inspiration from watching your videos! Thanks to you I just spent a delightful afternoon shopping at Jerry's Artarama for art supplies...I can't wait to sit down & start using my new goodies, lol.
If you don't mind, I have a question to ask. I just watched your new video NaNoMoJou Day 7 - another Gorgeous journal page btw :) I see that you used a Souffle gel pen...I almost bought a set today but then noticed the package said it takes 10 to 15 minutes to dry! Has this been your experience with them? I Love the look you get with them but boy, that sure is a long dry time! Do you ever heat set them to speed it up?
PS: I also love your RCADs...miniature works of art! Thanks again for sharing and the heaps of beautiful (& happy) inspiration :)
PPS: your little one playing with the puppy was a joy to watch :) TFS!

  4. Oh, this is so beautiful, Di! I know how hard it is when you're in that vortex and it's hard to flow and move in a clear creative direction. I think two words that are speaking to me right now are Emergence and Change. Anyways, thanks for subscribing to my channel...following you back. Praying your Flow increases exponentially during NaNoMoJou. Blessings~Sandra @ Creative Currents

  5. I loved the 4 ATCs you just posted. I'm in the middle of a move but now I'm inspired to make valentines.
Sorry about your sweet little dog. I felt like those cards were dedicated to him.
