icad2 - day 2

So the idea for this card came from a very strange place. lol  I was sitting on the stairs with my 16 month old son and he had swiped the package of round, cotton pads (those small circles of cotton you use to take off your make-up, etc) from the bathroom and was playing with them.  I started messing around with them and pulled them apart and such and started getting this idea on how to use them on my next index card.  I guess you get inspiration from all over, huh?  I wasn't sure if it was going to work but I have used pieces of dried baby wipes on my journal pages before and those worked, so I figured I'd give it a shot!  Here is what I came up with:

I'm really happy how grungy and fun this one turned out!  I'm really enjoying doing icad#2!  Especially because it is such a small size to be working with.  It's a lot easier for me to get one of these cards done from start to finish while my son is napping.  And, I was able to make another video of me creating this card.  You can watch it here!

Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to visit Tammy's site, Daisy Yellow, to learn all about icad#2 and be sure to join in on all of the fun!

God Bless!

icad2 - day one

I am really excited to be joining in on all of the fun of icad2 this year!  I missed it last year and almost forgot about it this year!  Thank goodness for Twitter and someone posting about it. ;-)  You can read all about icad2 at Tammy's site Daisy Yellow.  And, be sure to join in on the fun and share what you create!  You can start anytime!

Here is my first card:

A lot of the supplies that I used are from a couple of Mixed Media Kits from Scarlet Lime/Christy Tomlinson.  I LOVE her kits and have treasured all of them.  Now it's time to actually start using up all of those yummy supplies!

I also made a quick video of myself creating this card.  I was playing with a new camera and I honestly have no idea how to really mess with iMovie, so please bear with me.  ;-)  You can watch my video by clicking here.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

God Bless!

Christmas 2011 (and 2001!)....some digital layouts.

One of my goals for the new year is to focus on scrapbooking, both traditionally on paper and digitally.  I really do love doing digital scrapbook layouts and wow, there is so much for me to learn!  I started several years ago and have collected quite a digi-stash!  It's fun to just sit down on my laptop and create a layout....no messing up my art room, no papers everywhere, no adhesive on everything, etc.....well, it's good every now and then but I'm not sure if I could ever go totally digital with my scrapbooking.  And, mainly because I do LOVE to get messy, to touch the papers, smell the glue lol....I am such a tactile person that I NEED to use my senses. And that's just something you can't get from digital scrapbooking.  So anyway....lol.... here are a couple of Christmas layouts I created this past week......

I have more to share, too, and will in another post!  I hope you are all doing well and had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
