catching up on icad's - part 2 - cards 28-36

More icad's to share with you....I hit a wall and stopped working on these and didn't make it through July.  I'm thinking about starting them back up though.  I really enjoyed working on index cards.  They are small, but not too small and just a fun challenge for me to work on.

mad about color - an art journal page

Hi everyone!

I've been ages since I've posted anything and I went through a huge dry spell......just over stressed, over  worked, over tired, over sick...lol  You name it.  But, I've been able to get back into my art journal a bit and have a few new pages to share with you. ;-)

Be sure to scroll down to the bottom, because I'll share a link to my You Tube page where you can watch me create this page....

catching up on icads......days 23-27

Well, I've been plugging away at my icad's and pretty much getting one card completed each day.  I usually slow down on the weekends and that's mainly because my husband is home and I just don't like covering the kitchen island w/ all of my art junk when he's around. lol It's messy and that's where he fixes his sandwiches, so what's a girl to do? ;-)  But, Sunday night has always been one of my most productive nights and I usually get 2-3 cards completed on those nights.  It either catches me up or gives me a couple of extra cards to float on during the week if I miss a day.

So, I have LOTS to share with you and I'm going to divide it up it to two posts, so be sure to check for post 2 with cards #28-36.

I shot video's of me creating several of these cards and I will place the link to where you can watch each video underneath that cards photo.  Be sure to watch and let me know what you think.  I'm having a lot of fun making them and I hope you are enjoying them as well!

As always...please visit Tammy's site - Daisy Yellow- to learn all about icad2012!

spread your wings - art journal page

I worked on this page the other day....had it finished, then pulled it out later that evening, covered it with gesso and started adding some more layers.  It just didn't look right to me.....not sure what it was.....but I wasn't happy with it at all.  Well, I'm happy with it now and I know that several of you who watched the video of me creating this were quite surprised when I covered it all up with gesso! lol Next time I'll warn you... ;-)

I should have taken a before gesso picture, but I didn't even think about it...oh well.....maybe I'll remember next time. lol

You can watch me create this art journal spread here.

Thanks so much for visiting and come back soon....I'm trying desperately to get more things posted here to share with you all.

God Bless!

dream - a mixed media canvas

First of all, I need to tell you that this IS NOT my original idea, but my version of artwork designed by the amazing Christy Tomlinson.   Here is a link to her blog post featuring this project.  Christy's Mixed Media Kits are full of all sorts of amazing goodies and each month she shares a video of her creating something with all of the fun items in that months kit.  You can watch her creating her canvas here and be sure to watch all of her other YouTube videos.  They are great and I have learned so much by watching them!

I made this canvas as a gift for my secret pal and I had a lot of fun doing it...there's really nothing better than gluing down bits and pieces and rubbing paint around with my fingers....

(p.s. look at my hydrangeas!  They are as big as a soccer ball!)

And, while outside taking these pictures I was able to get a shot of our momma meadowlark feeing her sweet babies in our front tree.  There are four of them and they sound so sweet....

I stood out by our mail box for at least 15 minutes waiting for her to come back and I'm sure that my neighbors and all passerby's were thinking that I was quite strange. lol  Some lady, standing by mailboxes, holding up a camera with a long, zoom lens pointed at a tree for 15 minutes....lol  Oh well.  I love our meadowlarks and so happy that they have chosen our front tree to raise their family. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day today.....
God Bless,
di
